Check out the upcoming collection for PIGALLE's "New Eve!"
Pigalle‘s Stephane Ashpool-designed collection for Fall/Winter 2012 was an ode to a bygone era. It wasn’t the hyper-masculine 1960s of Don Draper or rustic turn-of-the century Americana however; the Parisian label drew instead from the Jazz Age of Gatsby with a European flair that suggested “An American in Paris.” It was an age of “intense virility, elegance and a nonchalantly assumed femininity,” according to Pigalle, and this was displayed with a procession of flamboyant, bohemian clothing in the sultry atmosphere of a speakeasy. The collection was showcased in acts, a succession of seductive evening colors and sumptuous fabrication — from velvet to hare felt, everything was about touch and sensuality. Of note, a medley of louche, luxurious tailored clothing and — like a nod to the brand’s popularity on the streets — the repeated appearance of Coogi-type sweaters that would make Biggie proud. Watch the innovative show above and look for Pigalle’s “New Eve” collection to hit stockists soon.
